Hot air balloons are made of three major parts: The burner, the envelope, and the basket.

The burner is the part that supplies the balloon with hot air that allows it to float. Propane gas is stored in cylinders and carried via two separate pipes to two areas: the pilot light, and a high-pressure valve. When the propane hits the pilot light, it creates flame that powers the balloon.
